CORE VALUES

THE GOSPEL MANDATE

  • SHARE THE GOSPEL: The Gospel message, containing the teachings, life, death, resurrection, and exaltation of Jesus, is at the very center of our Christian Faith. This message is to be shared with everyone, as commanded by Christ in scripture, so that the world may know Him and His love and declare Him as Lord and Savior. (Mark 16:15-16, Matthew 24:14)

  • EXPRESS THE GOSPEL: Jesus commands His followers to serve “the least of these”. This means we are to help and serve the hungry, thirsty, impoverished, and oppressed. Jesus says “Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it to me.’ When we serve ‘the least of these’ we are serving Christ. Also, by expressing the love of Christ through our actions by helping others with their basic needs, people will see Christ in us and our heavenly Father will receive the glory and the praise. (Matthew 25:34-40, Matthew 5:16, Hebrews 13:16, Philippians 2:4)

  • DISPLAY THE GOSPEL: Jesus made the blind see, the deaf hear, the dead live. He healed the sick and cast demons out of the oppressed. He has commissioned His followers to do the same and equipped them with spiritual gifts (1 Corinthians 12, Romans 12:6-8, Ephesians 4:11-12, 1 Peter 4:10-11) through the Holy Spirit to do these same works, to build up His church, and bring glory to our Father in heaven through Christ Jesus. (Matthew 10:8, Matthew 12:28, Acts 1:8, Mark 16:17-18, 1 Corinthians 4:20)

It is not required for everyone to participate in all 3 parts of this mandate, but all 3 parts are required as an organization for the mandate to be complete.

PRAISE AND WORSHIP

  • Everyone was created to be a worshiper and, through that worship, God is exalted high above all others. Praise and worship is a declaration of who God is and what His son, Jesus Christ, has done for us. And through our praise and worship, we wage war against the works of the devil and are equipped and strengthened by and through His Presence. Because of this, we can be -like scripture says- true worshipers; worshiping in spirit and in truth. (John 4:23-24, Psalm 95:1-6, Hebrews 13:15)

PRAYER

  • Prayer is our conversation with God, meant to help us grow in relationship with Him, direct our steps, move His hand, and intercede for our family, friends and community. It is an act of service, obedience, and power. Prayer should always be seen as an invaluable staple in our lives, even to the point of doing it “without ceasing”.  We believe that it is only through unceasing prayer that the culture change we are desiring will ever be achieved. And it is because of this that we believe that “Prayer does not fit us for the greater works; prayer is the greater work.”

AWAKENINGS

REVIVAL

  1. SPIRITUAL REVIVAL: Revival begins in the church with a divine habitation resulting from a fresh outpouring of His Spirit; which brings a deep repentance, desire for righteousness, and explosion of joy; along with the radical conversion and awakening of lost souls in the world. This will then lead to transformed lives in Christ and will bring forth a transformative revival.

  2. TRANSFORMATIVE REVIVAL: A culture change in our community which will positively affect crime, mental health, unemployment/poverty, family dynamics, and homelessness by demonstrating God’s love and restorative power.  (Isaiah 57:15, Psalm 85:6, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Joel 2:28-32)

DISCIPLESHIP

  • The Great Commission that Jesus gave us to “go and make disciples” is a straightforward command that speaks to the importance of building up and equipping His Church to know Christ, obey His commandments, and pursue the life that He lived. We are to take this command to heart because it is vital to bring forth the culture change in the youth and in our community that is long-lasting. (Matthew 28:18-20,                      1 Corinthians 11:1, Proverbs 22:6, Proverbs 27:17, 1 Thessalonians 5:11)

UNITY IN THE SPIRIT

  • Ephesians 4:3 states that we are to be “eager to maintain the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace”, meaning we must prioritize and desire to make every effort to keep ourselves, as the Body of Christ, unified in the Spirit- even in our differences. So, we must remember: 1) The Body of Christ is made up of many different parts but, without the different parts, we cannot function successfully as One Body together (1 Corinthians 12:12-21, Romans 12:4-5). 2) The Holy Spirit is the means of unity and true unity cannot take place outside of the Spirit. 3) We are not truly unified as the Body of Christ if we appear to be unified but are not in agreement with the Spirit and where He is leading- which can be measured by the fruit that is produced.  (Ephesians 4:1-6, Mark 11:12-14, 1 Corinthians 1:10, Galatians 3:28, Philippians 2:2, Psalm 133:1)

WALKING IN THE SPIRIT

  • We are to let the Holy Spirit guide us so that we may deny our sinful nature and let the Holy Spirit produce the Fruits of the Spirit in our lives: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. As we work together, our character, the state of our hearts, and how we treat each other will always be of the upmost importance. (1 Corinthians 13:1-3, Galatians 5:16-26)
